After more than 30 years in the cake industry, I know first-hand that being a successful cake maker is about so much more than creating beautiful cakes. I wanted to create the kind of place I would have loved to have had throughout my own cake-making journey – somewhere you can learn new skills, get practical business advice, ask questions and be part of a supportive community of cake makers who genuinely understand the highs and lows of running a cake business.

When I first started my cake business, I didn’t have a roadmap. I learned through trial and error, through late nights and long days. Over time, I discovered some of the industry’s best-kept secrets, and now, I want to pass that knowledge on to you.

As much as I’ve learnt over my 30+ years in the cake industry, I certainly don’t pretend to be an expert in everything!

Why I Created The Wedding Cake Lounge
When I look back over my own career, from starting my cake business to creating wedding cakes, teaching, judging and working alongside so many talented people in the industry, I realise just how much I’ve learnt along the way.
Some lessons came easily.
Others definitely didn’t!
There have been successes, mistakes, challenges and plenty of moments where I’ve had to work things out as I went along.
The Wedding Cake Lounge is my way of bringing that experience together and sharing it with other cake makers.
I wanted to create a space where you don’t have to figure absolutely everything out by yourself.
Somewhere you can learn from my experience, discover new techniques from talented experts, get practical advice about running your business and have a community around you when you need support or simply a little inspiration.
Most importantly, I want the Lounge to help cake makers feel more confident in their skills, their creativity and their businesses.
Because there’s always something new to learn – and I think that’s one of the things that makes our industry so exciting!
