Meet Carol, our award-winning cake designer who specialises in creating bespoke, stylish, and luxurious wedding, celebration and birthday cakes in Peterborough.

Carol’s stunning cake designs have been featured on international news channels and in several cake magazines, including Cake Masters, Wedding Cake, and American Cake Decorating. With years of experience and knowledge, Carol also teaches online.

  Spent a very useful Saturday at a Master the Basics Class by Cakes by Carol in Peterborough. Working with Carol and 3 other (much) more skilled ladies I managed to learn how to properly place and smooth fondant icing using the sharp edge smoother and even my efforts looked really sharp! 😀 now to practice.

  I hesitated for far too long before finally booking a course with Carol ‘Master the basics’. Wish I had took the plunge sooner, the sharp edge smoother is an absolute game changer whether you’re a professional or a hobby baker like me. Carol made me feel very welcome, at ease and she also has the patience of a saint!   Carol created our wedding cake and it was stunning. The colours and toppers were exactly what we had wished for, and the flavours were very tasty. She also made gluten-free cupcakes which went down very well with our coeliac guests.

The only criticism I have is that communication was often difficult (my emails not being replied to and me having to follow them up, for example), but nevertheless the final result looked wonderful.

  I experienced a course taught by Carol and what can I say, but wow! Worth every penny!
She had the patients of a saint and was very focused in meeting all of the group’s individual needs. It’s rare for someone to be willing to share so much knowledge, even more than what was advertised on her site.
Definitely worth investing in her courses whether a hobby baker or a professional as there was so much to learn.
What made it even better, is that Carol herself is a normal down to earth person and a laugh to be around.

If anything, I was going to score her low just because I’m jealous of her cakes.

  Recently bought Carol's cake smoother and 16 inch plates. I have only practiced a little bit with it, but wow what a difference it has made.   Sampling Carol's cakes was without a doubt my now Husband's favourite part of wedding planning! It has always been our dream to have Penguins on the top of our wedding cake and Carol not only made this a reality but made a truly stunning cake.   I bought wedding cake and Christmas cake tutorial with Carol. Oh I'm learning a lot and when you have a  problem she's there to help. I'm in South Africa but I feel  like she's close to me, because I can hear clearly and understand what she's saying.

Where Is Your Shop Located?

We are based in Stilton, just outside of Peterborough north of Cambridge, UK, PE73RP

How Much Notice Do You Need?

Our beautiful cakes are hand-crafted. Many cakes, especially wedding cakes, are booked well in advance. Please give us as much notice as you can as we are usually booked up to 4 months in advance (Longer for Wedding cakes).

Do You Deliver The Cakes?

Yes we do We make prestigious and delicious hand-crafted cakes, which by their very nature are delicate and need to be handled with the utmost care. All our cakes are packed carefully for transportation, you are welcome to collect from our studio in Stilton (Peterborough, Cambridge, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire and Northampton). We offer a delivery for a fee within a 60-mile radius of our studio in Stilton. Our cakes are packed securely for transportation, so we can guarantee your cake arrives safely. We do travel further afield, for our Wedding and more extravagant bespoke cakes, so please contact us so we can calculate the delivery charge for you. Because our cakes are too fragile we do not offer a courier service.

I Would Like A Bespoke Design. Are You Able To Do This?

No problem! Contact us via our contact form and we will be delighted to provide a quote for a bespoke creation. All of our cakes are made to order and it is almost certain that no two cakes are the same, for example…the message, colour scheme and decoration are unique to you. If you have a picture or sketch of the cake you would like, you can email it to us at carol@cakesbycarol.org.uk
