Boho Wedding Cake – Holmewood Hall Wedding Shoot

A couple months ago I organised a Wedding shoot at Holmewood Hall near Peterborough.  While I had no wedding cakes I thought it would be a great opportunity to gather some of the other trusted suppliers for a wedding shoot.

Boho was the theme, the sun was out and I got to show off some Boho wedding cakes that I recently designed.

Venue – Holmewood Hall 

Holmewood is one of the most beautiful wedding venues that I have the pleasure in being one of their trusted suppliers. A stunning Tudor Gothic style mansion, surrounded by ten acres of manicured grounds and parkland.

Set in the tiny village of Holme just outside Peterborough and owned by Country House Weddings.

Only a short drive from my home, I get to deliver many luxury wedding cakes throughout the year. Once you drive into the grounds and approach the entrance you are captured by the sheer beauty of the hall.

Inside there are so many little nooks and crannies, you can see why so many couples fall in love with this stunning venue.

Photographer – Beth of Elizabeth Young Photography

I have had the pleasure of working with Beth on many Weddings and have admired her work since we first met.  What Beth can do with a camera is amazing, her imagination and creativity is limitless.

Not only is Beth such a lovely lady, she is hugely talented. I was so pleased that she agreed to join our Boho Wedding styled shoot.

Flowers – Lisa of keepsakes Yaxley

Again I have known Lisa for many years and have had the pleasure of working with her on many weddings. Lisa makes the most beautiful flower displays and arrangements that completely transform any room.

Lisa’s has the most gorgeous florist shop in the village of Yaxley full of little bits and bobs. Lisa made up several Boho Wedding bouquets and displays for the wedding shoot, which were all beautiful. Lisa also made flower arrangements for the cakes and the flower hoop.

Hair – Hannah of Lipstick and Hairpins

This was the first time I met Hannah and was recommended by one of the other suppliers. With over fourteen years of experience Hannah provides freelance makeup, hair & beauty for all occasions.

Make up & Model – LAR Beauty Room

Lauren runs her nail and beauty salon business ‘LAR Beauty Room’ from home in Yaxley.  Not only did Lauren do her own make up she kindly stepped in to be our ‘Bride’ model for the shoot.

A little nervous to begin with but after a while she took it all in her stride and looked absolutely stunning. With some encouragement from Beth making her feel at ease,  Lauren soon settled into her roll for the day.

Dresses – Harveys of Ramsey

Harvey’s of Ramsey is a bridal boutique based in the historic fenland market town of Ramsey. Michelle and Danielle kindly provided us with 3 beautiful Boho style wedding dresses as well as some stunning pieces of headwear.

Venue Dressing – Allensis Special Ocassion Services & Flowerwalls of Cambridge

Deborah who owns both Allensis and Flowerwalls of Cambridge is based in Yaxley, Peterborough. I have worked with Deborah on many weddings and she really has an eye for detail when it comes to venue styling.

Stationary – Carla of Carla Corrado Designs

Based in Werrington Carla mainly designs Wedding stationary and kindly provide us with some beautiful table stationary.

Cake – myself Cakes By Carol

This was my first time being part of a wedding shoot and I can honestly say that I loved it.  My first Boho wedding cake design and I even made a dinky one too. We took full advantage of the good weather and got some fantastic shots of the ‘Stone Wedding Cake’ in the grounds of Holmewood Hall. Even inside beneath the staircase with the sunlight beaming through, Beth captured the stone effect perfectly.
