Description

Master the Basics – Online Cake Decorating Class

This class aims to teach you the fundamentals of cake decorating. If you’re a beginner or simply wish to perfect your cake decorating skills, this class is for you.

Our pre recorded online class is approximately two and half hours long, available to watch via a private Facebook group.

What will you learn

In this class you will learn the following… How to cut, fill, and ganache your cake using different techniques. Shown how to make white and dark chocolate ganache and how to deal with any issues you might experience. The best to cover your cake with sugarpaste and get that flawless finish.

What else?

We’ll provide you with the recipes for the Ganache, Buttercream, and Sponge. Including a list of the equipment you’ll need. There will be lots of tips throughout the live demonstration and the chance to ask any questions directly to Carol.

How it works

Once the class has been purchased, you’ll be invited to join a private Facebook group. PLEASE NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours for us to respond. This is a recorded live tutorial demonstration and not a ‘work along’ with me.

The video will remain in the group for you to go back and watch as many times as you wish. It is a relaxed and friendly set up and is open world wide. The class is taught in English. You will be able to share your results, comment on posts, and also ask questions in the group.

How can I view the online class?

You can still purchase the class after the live has taken place. The video/demonstration is not to be shared or downloaded.

  Spent a very useful Saturday at a Master the Basics Class by Cakes by Carol in Peterborough. Working with Carol and 3 other (much) more skilled ladies I managed to learn how to properly place and smooth fondant icing using the sharp edge smoother and even my efforts looked really sharp! 😀 now to practice.

  I hesitated for far too long before finally booking a course with Carol ‘Master the basics’. Wish I had took the plunge sooner, the sharp edge smoother is an absolute game changer whether you’re a professional or a hobby baker like me. Carol made me feel very welcome, at ease and she also has the patience of a saint!   Carol created our wedding cake and it was stunning. The colours and toppers were exactly what we had wished for, and the flavours were very tasty. She also made gluten-free cupcakes which went down very well with our coeliac guests.

The only criticism I have is that communication was often difficult (my emails not being replied to and me having to follow them up, for example), but nevertheless the final result looked wonderful.

  I experienced a course taught by Carol and what can I say, but wow! Worth every penny!
She had the patients of a saint and was very focused in meeting all of the group’s individual needs. It’s rare for someone to be willing to share so much knowledge, even more than what was advertised on her site.
Definitely worth investing in her courses whether a hobby baker or a professional as there was so much to learn.
What made it even better, is that Carol herself is a normal down to earth person and a laugh to be around.

If anything, I was going to score her low just because I’m jealous of her cakes.

  Recently bought Carol's cake smoother and 16 inch plates. I have only practiced a little bit with it, but wow what a difference it has made.   Sampling Carol's cakes was without a doubt my now Husband's favourite part of wedding planning! It has always been our dream to have Penguins on the top of our wedding cake and Carol not only made this a reality but made a truly stunning cake.   I bought wedding cake and Christmas cake tutorial with Carol. Oh I'm learning a lot and when you have a  problem she's there to help. I'm in South Africa but I feel  like she's close to me, because I can hear clearly and understand what she's saying.
